Children ministry goals and objectives
The church goal is to bring hope and a future to the unprivileged child of this community by employing the Christian motivation, attitude and endeavour to promote child development as deliberate process so that children grow up to be fulfilled Christian adults. We aim at providing learning and growth opportunities for the orphanaged and needy children thereby helping them to overcome developmental challenges they face and they are likely to face as they develop.
The overall children’s support ministry, of which the Uganda orphanage joins as a determinant facet exists to house, cloth and educate the disadvantaged children through a wholesome nature and care, by equipping them to overcome the spiritual, mental, economic and social physical contingencies, thus transforming them into responsible God-fearing citizens.
The specific objective of the orphanage finds its home to the orphaned and destitute for unaccompanied) child of his community. A childless family based care home will serve as a foster centre, a home for the innocent homeless children whose human potential would otherwise never be realized in a life time.
The church members have pledged to always contribute to this programme regularly visiting these homes and opening their own doors for some of these children to visit their own homes.
Project description
We have the ever increasing number of orphaned children in our community and Kampala area as whole efforts have been made to provide care and support for them but is not enough.
The HIV intervention has also been timely. However, as reflected in the background confronted by the increasing number of homeless children we have an option but to address these needs. A number of assistance have also ready been adopted but with more challenges that need creating a family or cluster foster came as the other option.
Among the steps taken so far includes; an
extended family approach. Where this has been possible a family
is identified to car for orphans after death of the parents.
Those who are under this category are mostly looked after by
their grandmothers. More...>
